Biofilms Formation

A biofilm is any cluster of microorganisms during which cells stick with one another on a surface. These adherent cells area unit often embedded among autogenous matrix of extra compound substance (EPS). Biofilms type once bacterium adhere to surfaces in some type of watery atmosphere and start to eliminate a slippy, glue like substance that may stick with all types of materials–metals, plastics, soil particles, medical implant materials, biological tissues. Biofilms is shaped by one microorganism species; however biofilms additional usually carries with it several species of bacterium, furthermore as fungi, algae, protozoa, debris, and corrosion product. Primarily, a biofilm might type on any surface exposed to bacterium and a few quantity of water.
