Clinical Microbiology is a branch of clinical science that deals with the prevention, diagnosis, and study of disease transmission as well as the treatment of infectious diseases. It is concerned about a variety of clinical uses of microbes for health enhancement. Biotechnology is the use of biological processes for industrial and other uses, particularly the genetic manipulation of microbes for antibiotic and hormone synthesis.
